Summer is here! It’s time for lazy days sleeping in and enjoying all that the season has to offer, right?
While it might seem heavenly for the first few weeks, have you suddenly found yourself already counting down the days until the kids head back to school?
Don’t worry… you’re not alone. If you’re hearing complaints and whining about being bored, we’ve got some ideas that will keep your kiddos engaged and entertained. And the good news? Most are easy and affordable – and some are even FREE!
>> Head to your local library. Most offer free story times and have a “kids” area with toys, puzzles, computer games and other activities to keep them busy. For those of you right here in Bedminster, check out all the fun for kids at Clarence Dillon Public Library.
>> Go on a Scavenger or Treasure Hunt. If you’re not creative enough to come up with one on your own, there are lots of ideas that can be tailored to any theme, age or location.
>> Take a nature walk or explore in your local park. Bedminster has many great parks that have sports facilities, picnic areas, playgrounds and access to the Hike & Bike Trail.
>> Shop your local Farmer’s Market. Kids will learn about growing their own vegetables and even get to sample them.
