You might have heard of Sonicare. They’re the company that makes the insanely expensive, but technologically advanced electronic toothbrushes. A division of their company—Clarisonic—has come out with a product that is similar, yet quite different.
Clarisonic makes electronic skin care products. The kind of hardware that spas, physicians, and places like Sephora have. They’re latest release is the Pedi Sonic Foot Transformation System.
It claims to “create beautiful, smooth, sandal-ready feet.” It’s a product that I suppose is aimed at those with calloused and dried-up feet. Though priced at $200, one might consider getting a pedicure or sucking it up.
Anyway, the Pedi (it’s ridiculous to call it by its full name) works very much like their other products. It’s an oscillating, brush head that exfoliates your skin. In fact it looks akin to an oversized electronic toothbrush.
Basically, this product is only for those who are obsessed with their feet. Just short of fetish level. It comes with various attachments and appendages. Included in the package:
- The Pedi
- Charger, which can be plugged into a USB Port
- Wall adapter
- Two brush heads
- Exfoliator
- Foot cream
- Foot peel serum
- Set of directions
Not only is there a buffing brush head. There’s a metal smoothing disk head to really shape your feet. This, however, is recommended to be used only two times a week on dry feet. These two devices each run on their own for a preset 2 minutes.
There’s a reason why the word “system” is in the product’s full name. Once you’re done with the brushing, you’ve got apply a “Pedi-Boost” peel treatment. Once this is done, five minutes later, you’ve got to throw on some “Pedi-Balm” softening cream. They take this stuff seriously.
According to users, this all takes about 25 minutes. So, as said before, it’s for the neurotic pedi-phile (see what I did there). Still, it certainly gets the job done. Users—for the most part women—say it’s perfect for handling feet destroyed by daily walking commutes in the big city.
Is it worth the money? You could get 4 or 5 pedicures for its price. But this is also more convenient than going out to get your feet done. That and you have complete control over it…once again perfect for neurotics.
Lastly, though it may look like a giant toothbrush, keep it away from your face. Clarisonic expressly states this in the directions. If you already own a Sonicare brush, you could always have it work two shifts: on your teeth and on your feet.
