I have a tooth gap. It has always bothered me. My dentist suggested porcelain veneers, but they’re quite expensive. I was thinking Invisalign would be a better bet. What do you think?

Anne,
I agree with you. Porcelain veneers are too expensive a procedure if the only thing you need done is closing a tooth gap. If you had other things you wanted to change about your teeth, then I’d say it was a good procedure.
Invisalign would work. However, again, if everything else is fine with your teeth, it’s a bit of an over-treatment.
The normal cosmetic treatment for a tooth gap is to have dental bonding done. It uses a composite resin to close the gap.
I’m going to recommend you go to a different dentist if the only thing you mentioned about your teeth was the gap. It’s possible your current dentist is trying to get as much money out of you as possible. Not a common thing to happen in the dental field, but not unheard of either.
