I got porcelain veneers. I picked out my color and was thrilled with the idea of my teeth being that white, but when the veneers got back they had some staining on them that made them look darker. When I question my dentist about that he said it was to make them look normal. I refused to let him put them on. Shouldn’t he do the color I want?

You are absolutely right. You shouldn’t have to accept something that is less than you ordered, especially given the cost of porcelain veneers.
It sounds to me that your dentist isn’t a very skilled cosmetic dentist. We know that the patient is the final judge on what is beautiful for their smile.
Let’s face it, if you wanted a “normal” stained smile, why get porcelain veneers to begin with. Most people who get veneers want a gorgeous smile.
Tell your dentist to send them back to the lab and get them the way you wanted them.
