I have some porcelain crowns and they look pretty fake. I’ve seen some of the porcelain veneers on your site as well as a few others. They look much nicer than my crowns. Can I switch from porcelain crowns to porcelain veneers?

I’m glad you like the veneers on our site. Whether you get porcelain crowns or porcelain veneers, either of them can look gorgeous or they can look fake. It is not the procedure that makes the difference, but rather the dentist who does them.
If your dentist gave you fake looking crowns, he would also give you fake looking veneers. The key is to find a dentist with both experience in advanced cosmetic procedures as well as an eye for artistry. That is not an easy combination to find.
Unfortunately, once you’ve gotten porcelain crowns, you cannot switch to porcelain veneers. The reason for this is the amount of tooth structure that is removed in preparation for the crowns. That doesn’t leave enough remaining structure for you veneers.
However, that doesn’t mean that you are trapped with unnatural looking crowns. You can get your crowns re-done; though I wouldn’t go to the same dental provider. Make sure that whomever you go to gives you all-porcelain crowns instead of procelain fused to metal crowns.
