My dentist and I are in a disagreement. I wanted to get four porcelain veneers because I just wanted my front teeth done. But, he said because I have a wide smile I need eight. Is he just trying to get double the money out of me? That seems like a lot of veneers.

Generally, you’d want a minimum of six porcelain veneers in a smile makeover. If you have a wide smile, then eight would be the correct number.
If you’re going to spend money on a smile makeover, you want to get the best one possible. If you just get four veneers, the adjacent teeth will be visible, which will make your smile look weird. You’ll have four gorgeous teeth and teeth next to it that do not match at all.
If you’re still worried that you don’t need it, you could get a second opinion by someone who can see your smile.
