My dentist and I are in a disagreement. He’s agreed to give me a smile makeover. I told him I wanted lumineers, but he said he prefers to pick the brands himself. He’s not crazy about lumineers. Isn’t that my choice? I’m paying a ton of money.

It is your money, but what you’re paying for is a grogeous smile. If you want that, you need to trust your dentist. He’s got the knowledge and training you’re paying for. Lumineers are heavily marketed, so I’m sure you’ve heard a lot about them.
However, not all cosmetic dentists feel they are the best, most beautiful option. If you can’t trust your dentist, then you’re with the wrong dentist.
I would go at it a different way. Your best way of getting the smile you want is to be clear with your dentist what kind of smile you’ve pictured in your mind…everything, color, shape, and size can be tailored to your wishes. From there, let him choose the materials. He should know what will work best for your desired results.
