I got eight lumineers. My dentist and I discussed how I’d like them. I’m happy about all of it except one part. He stained them. When I asked him why he did it given that we’d discussed everything, he said I would be happier with them looking normal. If I wanted my teeth to look normal, I wouldn’t have spent a fortune on lumineers. What do I do?

It sounds to me like you went to a dentist who’s not very experienced in cosmetic dentistry. In dental school we’re taught we know better than the patient. Experienced cosmetic dentists know better.
It’s about the smile you wanted to get out of your makeover. If the Lumineers are already bonded on there’s not much you can do except get them replaced.
If they’re not bonded on yet, you’re good. Absolutely refuse to allow your dentist to bond them on until they look like you were hoping for. He can send them back to the lab and have them fixed.
