I don’t know if you’ve dealt with a lot of celebrities in your capacity as a cosmetic dentist, but I was wondering if you knew why some celebrities seem to need perfect teeth to succeed and others refuse to fix their teeth, like Madonna, yet still seem successful in Hollywood?
I have a small gap and I’m trying to make a decision as to whether fixing it will make me more successful.

The decision as to whether or not to have cosmetic procedures done is very personal. The point of having it done is confidence. For some people, it is a matter of principle not to get their teeth done. They’re determined people will accept them as they are or move on.
For others, they feel that people are pre-judged by their appearance and want to give themselves a little edge. Then, people will get to know them and make a decision.
If you’ve got a small gap and decide you want the confidence that comes with fixing it you have a couple of options: First, you can get a temporary fix to see if you like it with dental bonding. Second, you can get a more permanent fix with porcelain veneers.
Either way, your biggest decision is choosing a cosmetic dentist. You want someone with the technical expertise as well as an artistic ability. If you just use your average family dentist you’ll be a little disappointed in the results.
