I have a dark line at my gumline and hoped I could whiten it. I keep brushing it but it doesn’t go away. It’s on my tooth that has a crown. I don’t know if that has stained it. Would the whitening work?

I suspect you have a porcelain-fused-to-metal crown and that gray line is a result of the crown. It’s not a stain, so it won’t whiten.
Teeth whitening wouldn’t work on your dental crown either. Unfortunately, the only way to deal with this gray line is to replace the crown. You’ll not want to get another metal based crown or you’ll end up with the same problem.
When you replace it, be sure you get an all-porcelain crown. This will prevent the line.
